Festivals | Tasting Australia
Tasting Australia is back again this autumn with a massive event celebrating all things food and drinks around South Australia! It's all about bringing together people, food, and places to create an unforgettable experience.
This is not your typical food festival—Tasting Australia offers unique and exciting products and experiences that will make your taste buds jump with joy.
The festival brings in top chefs from around the globe to work with local legends, creating unforgettable culinary masterpieces. You can also take part in wine, beer, or spirit masterclasses and taste high-quality drinks from South Australia and beyond.
If you decide to go for this particular masterclass, don't forget to say hi to the one and only Banjo Harris Plane, one of the Drinks Curators and a long-time member of Mâché, who created an amazing festival together with a brilliant team of experts.

Food | Plant-based meat in Australia growing in popularity
Plant-based meat sales have been increasing in Australia, with a whopping 47% growth expected between 2020 and 2023. This growth is primarily driven by the food service industry, where restaurants are increasingly offering plant-based options to their customers.
However, retail sales have declined slightly due to the rise in grocery prices. Despite these economic challenges, the future looks bright for the industry and the environment. There is still a strong consumer interest in plant-based eating, and the price gap between plant-based and conventional meat is gradually decreasing.
Australia is well-positioned to become a major player in the global plant protein market. But some challenges still remain. These include securing funding for domestic manufacturing and catering to regional consumer preferences. But with continued innovation and collaboration, the future for veggies, vegans, and flexitarians is looking promising!
